5:05 5:08 update Lester we're learning from four
5:08 5:10 senior law enforcement officials that
5:10 5:13 the suspect shooter here in Maine has
5:13 5:16 been found dead Robert card reportedly
5:16 5:18 now found dead after being accused of
5:18 5:20 carrying out the deadly mass shooting
5:20 5:23 here in Maine Robert C is alleged to
5:23 5:25 have open fire at shang's bar in Grill
5:25 5:27 in the just in time Recreation bowling
5:27 5:29 alley Wednesday evening in Lewis in a
5:29 5:32 city of about
5:32 5:35 37,8 people were killed authorities said
5:35 5:37 and all of those individuals have now
5:37 5:39 been identified the development comes
5:39 5:42 after that massive Manhunt described by
5:42 5:44 Maine's Public Safety commissioner as a
5:44 5:47 full Port court press to find him an
5:47 5:48 arrest warrant had been issued for card
5:48 5:50 for eight counts of murder initially
5:50 5:52 according to Maine State Police the
5:52 5:53 eight counts have been based on the
5:53 5:56 identification of eight of the 18 dead
5:56 5:58 and that number did will it go up as we
5:58 6:00 are expecting
6:00 6:02 uh oppressor later this evening with
6:02 6:05 more information about this report that
6:05 6:07 he has been found dead now police have
6:07 6:08 been searching homes and dense Woods
6:08 6:10 throughout the region worried the
6:10 6:13 suspect could be hiding out including
6:13 6:15 here in the town of Lisbon where his car
6:15 6:18 was found now today authorities spent
6:18 6:21 much of the day in the air by boat and
6:21 6:24 with divers in the water trying to see
6:24 6:25 if they could find any trace of them
6:25 6:27 authorities saying they were going to
6:27 6:30 use sonar technology and th Imaging they
6:30 6:32 were going bit by bit along the river
6:32 6:35 using GPS's to make sure they didn't go
6:35 6:37 back to an area they had already been at
6:37 6:39 before they were marking trees with
6:39 6:41 ribbons to make sure they wouldn't go

6:43 6:46 they actually had to lower the stream Uh

6:50 6:53 could find any trace of Robert car now a

6:55 6:57 been the sole suspect since Wednesday's
6:57 6:59 night's shooting uh the first at at the
6:59 7:01 bowling alley Where officials say they
7:01 7:03 were on scene within a minute and a half
7:03 7:06 of receiving a 911 call the second at
7:06 7:09 the bar in Grill shangi where police say
7:09 7:11 they responded within 5 minutes
7:11 7:13 authorities say they have received more
7:13 7:14 than
7:14 7:17 53 tips and they interviewed more than
7:17 7:19 70 Witnesses within that first night but
7:19 7:21 there was no answer to questions about
7:21 7:23 card's family statements at NBC news
7:23 7:25 that they had raised concerns about his
7:25 7:28 mental health to both family and to
7:28 7:31 military of course as this news breaks
7:31 7:34 word now will travel to the victims who
7:34 7:36 have been paralyzed unable to hold any
7:36 7:38 vigils or any other funeral services as
7:38 7:40 they were waiting to see whether or not
7:40 7:43 Robert card would be found dead or alive
7:43 7:45 many of them mourning now and they will
7:45 7:47 surely begin to receive this news as
7:47 7:51 they begin to plan those funerals Lester
7:51 7:53 and tonight all 18 of the people shot
7:53 7:55 and killed have now been identified they
7:55 7:59 range in age from 14 to 76 Emily aena
7:59 8:00 with their stories
8:00 8:04 tonight 18 lives Gone Too Soon their
8:04 8:06 family and friends now facing the
8:06 8:08 unfathomable Elizabeth seal lost her
8:08 8:11 husband Josh first and foremost he was
8:11 8:13 an amazing dad to his four
8:13 8:15 kids we spoke to the family through a
8:15 8:17 friend and ASL interpreter what do you
8:17 8:20 want people to know about your
8:20 8:23 husband I think those people who already
8:23 8:26 know my husband they were lucky he was
8:26 8:29 amazing for those who didn't know him
8:29 8:33 they lost
8:33 8:35 out he was such a fierce advocate for
8:35 8:37 the deaf community and for kids the
8:37 8:39 36-year-old was a prominent ASL
8:39 8:41 interpreter working for the state
8:41 8:43 throughout the pandemic Josh was playing
8:43 8:45 in a cornhole tournament at shim's bar
8:45 8:48 when the G burst in Wednesday
8:48 8:50 night when the shooting started my
8:50 8:53 husband got down and was Army crawling
8:53 8:56 trying to hide uh under one of the
8:56 8:59 cornhole boards just for some sort of
8:59 9:01 protection three other members of the de
9:01 9:04 Community Steve Vella Brian McFarland
9:04 9:06 and Billy bracket were also killed at
9:06 9:09 the bar while playing cornhole he was
9:09 9:13 and it's so hard to say was um was the
9:13 9:16 kindest person Billy was Kelly mello's
9:16 9:18 Uncle he taught her sign language so she
9:18 9:19 could communicate with her daughter who
9:19 9:23 was nonverbal he gave me a voice for my
9:23 9:26 daughter he bridged that connection for
9:26 9:28 her and I he gave me something I could
9:28 9:30 never
9:30 9:32 repay him back
9:32 9:34 for so many families mourning their
9:34 9:37 loved ones while Sheltering in place the
9:37 9:39 seals had to join a virtual vigil to
9:39 9:42 remember Josh Jason and sephine are the
9:42 9:45 oldest of the four kids he leaves behind
9:45 9:48 he loved hanging out with me my sister
9:48 9:50 watching movies he loved spending time
9:50 9:52 with us as a family my dad was always
9:52 9:57 super funny and he loved to say you're
9:57 9:59 just like your mom and at one point
9:59 10:01 during our interview Elizabeth turning
10:01 10:04 to address her two older kids just want
10:04 10:07 to make sure you know that he loved the
10:07 10:10 four of you tremendously every morning
10:10 10:12 he loved his time with you guys getting
10:12 10:15 you to school and making sure you have a
10:15 10:17 great day telling you that he loves you
10:17 10:20 fist bumps and he'd always wake you up
10:20 10:23 sephine and say good morning sunshine um
10:23 10:26 he absolutely adored his time with you
10:26 10:28 time cut short by the worst mass
10:28 10:31 shooting in Main's history Emily what an
10:31 10:33 absolutely touching moment that was what
10:33 10:35 what are the families telling you about
10:35 10:37 what they want people to know about
10:37 10:39 their loved

10:46 10:47 they don't want their loved ones to

10:59 11:01 Pentagon says they're being hit by
11:01 11:04 Iranian back militias provoking US air
11:04 11:07 strikes in Syria early today there's
11:07 11:09 Pentagon correspondent Courtney
11:09 11:12 cuby tonight the Pentagon says Iranian
11:12 11:14 back militia groups are at it again
11:14 11:16 launching another drone attack on a base
11:16 11:19 with Americans this one in Western Iraq
11:19 11:21 there were no casualties but it comes
11:21 11:23 just hours after a US show of force
11:23 11:26 intended to stop Iranian backed attacks
11:26 11:28 against US troops in the Middle East the
11:28 11:30 US conducting two air strikes in
11:30 11:32 northeastern Syria overnight and
11:32 11:33 according to the Pentagon hitting
11:33 11:36 buildings housing weapons and ammunition
11:36 11:38 the Pentagon saying the facilities were
11:38 11:40 used by Iran's Islamic revolutionary
11:40 11:43 guard Corps and Affiliated groups the US
11:43 11:45 says its strikes are designed to stop

5:08 5:10 senior law enforcement officials that
5:10 5:13 the suspect shooter here in Maine has
5:13 5:16 been found dead Robert card reportedly
5:16 5:18 now found dead after being accused of
5:18 5:20 carrying out the deadly mass shooting
5:20 5:23 here in Maine Robert C is alleged to
5:23 5:25 have open fire at shang's bar in Grill
5:25 5:27 in the just in time Recreation bowling
5:27 5:29 alley Wednesday evening in Lewis in a
5:29 5:32 city of about
5:32 5:35 37,8 people were killed authorities said
5:35 5:37 and all of those individuals have now
5:37 5:39 been identified the development comes
5:39 5:42 after that massive Manhunt described by
5:42 5:44 Maine's Public Safety commissioner as a
5:44 5:47 full Port court press to find him an
5:47 5:48 arrest warrant had been issued for card
5:48 5:50 for eight counts of murder initially
5:50 5:52 according to Maine State Police the
5:52 5:53 eight counts have been based on the
5:53 5:56 identification of eight of the 18 dead
5:56 5:58 and that number did will it go up as we
5:58 6:00 are expecting
6:00 6:02 uh oppressor later this evening with
6:02 6:05 more information about this report that
6:05 6:07 he has been found dead now police have
6:07 6:08 been searching homes and dense Woods
6:08 6:10 throughout the region worried the
6:10 6:13 suspect could be hiding out including
6:13 6:15 here in the town of Lisbon where his car
6:15 6:18 was found now today authorities spent
6:18 6:21 much of the day in the air by boat and
6:21 6:24 with divers in the water trying to see
6:24 6:25 if they could find any trace of them
6:25 6:27 authorities saying they were going to
6:27 6:30 use sonar technology and th Imaging they
6:30 6:32 were going bit by bit along the river
6:32 6:35 using GPS's to make sure they didn't go
6:35 6:37 back to an area they had already been at
6:37 6:39 before they were marking trees with
6:39 6:41 ribbons to make sure they wouldn't go
6:41 6:43 back to those areas officials saying
6:43 6:46 they actually had to lower the stream Uh
6:46 6:49 current there here in the river to help
6:49 6:50 with the dive efforts to see if they
6:50 6:53 could find any trace of Robert car now a
6:53 6:55 longtime Army reservist Robert Carr has
6:55 6:57 been the sole suspect since Wednesday's
6:57 6:59 night's shooting uh the first at at the
6:59 7:01 bowling alley Where officials say they
7:01 7:03 were on scene within a minute and a half
7:03 7:06 of receiving a 911 call the second at
7:06 7:09 the bar in Grill shangi where police say
7:09 7:11 they responded within 5 minutes
7:11 7:13 authorities say they have received more
7:13 7:14 than
7:14 7:17 53 tips and they interviewed more than
7:17 7:19 70 Witnesses within that first night but
7:19 7:21 there was no answer to questions about
7:21 7:23 card's family statements at NBC news
7:23 7:25 that they had raised concerns about his
7:25 7:28 mental health to both family and to
7:28 7:31 military of course as this news breaks
7:31 7:34 word now will travel to the victims who
7:34 7:36 have been paralyzed unable to hold any
7:36 7:38 vigils or any other funeral services as
7:38 7:40 they were waiting to see whether or not
7:40 7:43 Robert card would be found dead or alive
7:43 7:45 many of them mourning now and they will
7:45 7:47 surely begin to receive this news as
7:47 7:51 they begin to plan those funerals Lester
7:51 7:53 and tonight all 18 of the people shot
7:53 7:55 and killed have now been identified they
7:55 7:59 range in age from 14 to 76 Emily aena

8:04 8:06 family and friends now facing the
8:06 8:08 unfathomable Elizabeth seal lost her
8:08 8:11 husband Josh first and foremost he was
8:11 8:13 an amazing dad to his four
8:13 8:15 kids we spoke to the family through a
8:15 8:17 friend and ASL interpreter what do you
8:17 8:20 want people to know about your
8:20 8:23 husband I think those people who already
8:23 8:26 know my husband they were lucky he was
8:26 8:29 amazing for those who didn't know him
8:29 8:33 they lost
8:33 8:35 out he was such a fierce advocate for
8:35 8:37 the deaf community and for kids the
8:37 8:39 36-year-old was a prominent ASL
8:39 8:41 interpreter working for the state
8:41 8:43 throughout the pandemic Josh was playing
8:43 8:45 in a cornhole tournament at shim's bar
8:45 8:48 when the G burst in Wednesday
8:48 8:50 night when the shooting started my
8:50 8:53 husband got down and was Army crawling
8:53 8:56 trying to hide uh under one of the
8:56 8:59 cornhole boards just for some sort of
8:59 9:01 protection three other members of the de
9:01 9:04 Community Steve Vella Brian McFarland
9:04 9:06 and Billy bracket were also killed at
9:06 9:09 the bar while playing cornhole he was
9:09 9:13 and it's so hard to say was um was the
9:13 9:16 kindest person Billy was Kelly mello's
9:16 9:18 Uncle he taught her sign language so she
9:18 9:19 could communicate with her daughter who
9:19 9:23 was nonverbal he gave me a voice for my
9:23 9:26 daughter he bridged that connection for
9:26 9:28 her and I he gave me something I could
9:28 9:30 never
9:30 9:32 repay him back
9:32 9:34 for so many families mourning their
9:34 9:37 loved ones while Sheltering in place the
9:37 9:39 seals had to join a virtual vigil to
9:39 9:42 remember Josh Jason and sephine are the
9:42 9:45 oldest of the four kids he leaves behind
9:45 9:48 he loved hanging out with me my sister
9:48 9:50 watching movies he loved spending time
9:50 9:52 with us as a family my dad was always
9:52 9:57 super funny and he loved to say you're
9:57 9:59 just like your mom and at one point
9:59 10:01 during our interview Elizabeth turning
10:01 10:04 to address her two older kids just want
10:04 10:07 to make sure you know that he loved the
10:07 10:10 four of you tremendously every morning
10:10 10:12 he loved his time with you guys getting
10:12 10:15 you to school and making sure you have a
10:15 10:17 great day telling you that he loves you
10:17 10:20 fist bumps and he'd always wake you up
10:20 10:23 sephine and say good morning sunshine um
10:23 10:26 he absolutely adored his time with you
10:26 10:28 time cut short by the worst mass
10:28 10:31 shooting in Main's history Emily what an
10:31 10:33 absolutely touching moment that was what
10:33 10:35 what are the families telling you about
10:35 10:37 what they want people to know about

11:01 11:04 Iranian back militias provoking US air
11:04 11:07 strikes in Syria early today there's
11:07 11:09 Pentagon correspondent Courtney
11:09 11:12 cuby tonight the Pentagon says Iranian
11:12 11:14 back militia groups are at it again
11:14 11:16 launching another drone attack on a base
11:16 11:19 with Americans this one in Western Iraq
11:19 11:21 there were no casualties but it comes
11:21 11:23 just hours after a US show of force
11:23 11:26 intended to stop Iranian backed attacks
11:26 11:28 against US troops in the Middle East the
11:28 11:30 US conducting two air strikes in
11:30 11:32 northeastern Syria overnight and
11:32 11:33 according to the Pentagon hitting
